Summer Reading Challenge

From May 29th - July 31st, Oberlin Public Library will be hosting it's annual Summer Reading Challenge! Whether it’s a page-turning thriller, an uplifting audiobook, a comforting graphic novel, or exciting non-fiction, celebrate the books that make your world bigger.

How To participate:

  1. REGISTER

Sign up at oberlinlibrary.beanstack.org, on the Beanstack app, or in person at the Information Desk. All ages can participate!

2. READ

We challenge our community to read and log at least 5 titles during the challenge. Reading or listening to 5 books will earn you your first reading prize! If you manage 25 titles, you will receive a second and final reading prize!

Every single book you log, up to that 25th book, counts as an entry into our Grand Prize raffle. Even reading just one single book gives you the chance to win! 

For younger readers (up to 10), every 30 minutes of reading, or being read to, counts as a challenge milestone. 2 and a half hours of reading will earn 1 reading prize, with 12 and a half hours of reading earning a second and final reading prize! Plus every 30 minutes logged counts as a raffle entry!

  • Night on the Town Gift Card Bundle

  • Shop Local Gift Card Bundle

  • Dinosaur LEGO Bundle

  • K-Pop Bundle

KICK OFF EVENT

Join us to Kick Off Summer Reading with a family celebration on Saturday, June 6th! Join us in Martin Luther King Jr. Park from 11am -1pm for yard games, tie dye, and a bubble party! Don't forget to sign up for summer reading before you leave!

All ages are invited to stop by and join in the fun! Limited items for tie dye will be provided courtesy of the Oberlin Free Store for Kids, but we also encourage everyone to bring their own 100% cotton clothing! 

MLK Jr. Park is located at 17th E Vine St., Oberlin, OH. Parking will be available at Oberlin Public Library.
