Computer Lab

The Bridge has two computer spaces: the front lab, which is available for drop-in computing, and the back lab, which is used for special programming and after-school activities as The Backspace.

The front lab offers computers running Windows, Mac, and Linux operating systems, as well as WiFi access and seating for laptop users. All computers provide access to word processing software, printing, and scanning. A limited number of computers provide access to specialized software including Adobe Element 2021, Adobe Photoshop CS, Adobe Acrobat Reader Pro, and Microsoft Publisher 2019.

Patrons may print up to 20 pages per day at the rate of $.10 per page for black and white copies and $.50 per page for color copies. Scanning is offered free of charge. The Bridge does not currently provide faxing services.

The Backspace

The Backspace offers after-school activities for middle and high school students in a safe and fun environment.

  • Library staff members are available to provide personal assistance on a variety of topics.

  • A 3D printer is a computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) device that creates three-dimensional objects. Like a traditional printer, a 3D printer receives digital data from a computer as input. However, instead of printing the output on paper, a 3D printer builds a three-dimensional model out of a custom material.

The Bridge currently offers 3D printing for patrons on the Creality Ender 3.

Resources such as Thingiverse and Tinkercad provide design tools, as well as pre-designed 3D models for users to download.

  • A hotspot is a small portable device that provides internet access to other Wi-Fi enabled devices. The Bridge offers hotspots for circulation to adult borrowers. Limited to one per household every 60 days.

  • The Bridge offers access to a computer in a separate quiet space to ensure patron privacy during virtual meetings, school and doctor’s appointments.
