Join us for a special Oberlin Writes event with NYT best-selling author of The Heir Chronicles, The Seven Realms, and The Shattered Realms series, Cinda Williams Chima.
Chima will use a combination of lecture, examples, and hands-on exercises to explore the use of cinematic techniques to engage readers with characters and immerse them in story. Participants will learn how to analyze a work in progress to achieve an effective balance of narrative, dialogue, and action. Attendees will inject tension into story using classic film techniques, while honing narrative to a razor's edge.
Registration is required. To register, please visit us in person or give us a call at (440) 775-4790.
Sponsored by Friends of the Oberlin Public Library, the Oberlin Writer's Group, OPL, and The Bridge.
